Castle Quay car park, Banbury - photographed by Steve Gold on a foggy Christmas Eve 2005Castle Quay car park, Banbury - photographed by Steve Gold on a foggy Christmas Eve 2005

I like the way digital filters can transform a scene, especially a night-time one, from something rather uninteresting to one which is evocative and mysterious. The Castle Quay car park in Banbury is a place, where, whether on a clear, misty or foggy night, the filter process can change even the most humble streetlight into a weird beacon of light. These night scenes were taken on Christmas Eve 2005, after midnight, when I saw the fog come down and knew the ghost-like rainbow colours that would ensue.

More examples of Steve's work may be seen in his Gallery from where prints of his work can be purchased.
